Purchasing Policy — Eggs by Hen & Shell Co.

Effective date: 10/04/2025

This policy is designed to protect both you (the customer) and the producer (Hen & Shell Co.). By purchasing eggs from Hen & Shell Co., you acknowledge and agree to the terms below.

  1. Availability

  • Egg quantities are subject to availability based on daily/seasonal laying patterns and prior reservations.

  • Orders are filled first-come, first-served. If your requested quantity isn’t available, you may choose a reduced quantity or a refund for the unavailable portion.

  1. Pricing & Payment

  • Current prices are posted at the time of order and may change without notice for future orders.

  • Payment is due at pickup/delivery unless otherwise arranged.

  1. Order Confirmation, Changes & Cancellations

  • An order is confirmed when Mia (or a designated family representative) accepts it via message/email/text.

  • Changes or cancellations should be requested at least 12 hours before pickup/delivery time.

  1. Pickup/Delivery & Risk of Loss

  • At handoff, you’ll have the opportunity to inspect cartons.

  • After handoff, risk of loss and breakage transfers to the customer. Please handle cartons carefully and keep them upright.

  1. Quality, Handling & Storage

  • Eggs are collected and packed with care. For best quality and safety, refrigerate promptly and cook thoroughly.

  • Natural variation in shell color, size, and shape may occur and is not a defect.

  1. Breakage & Illness Disclaimer

  • By purchasing eggs from Hen & Shell Co., you agree that Hen & Shell Co. is not responsible for any broken eggs or any illnesses that may occur from handling, storage, or consumption of eggs, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

  • Eggs are a raw agricultural product; safe-handling and proper cooking are the customer’s responsibility.

  1. Returns & Refunds

  • Due to the perishable nature of eggs, returns are not accepted after handoff.

  • If a material issue is found at pickup (e.g., visibly cracked shells before transfer), Mia may, at her discretion, replace the affected eggs or refund the value of those eggs.

  1. Allergens & Sensitivities

  • Eggs may trigger allergies. Customers are responsible for confirming suitability for their own dietary needs.

  1. Sustainability

  • Clean, undamaged cartons may be returned for reuse where permitted.

  1. Acceptance of Terms

  • Placing an order or accepting delivery signifies your acceptance of this policy.

Note: Local regulations on farm-fresh egg sales may apply. If you have legal questions, consider consulting a qualified attorney.
